1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FoodScan Pets (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. AI-Generated Analysis — Important Disclaimer

FoodScan Pets provides AI-generated nutritional analysis for educational purposes only. This information is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian before making changes to your pet's diet, especially if your pet has health conditions.

Our AI analyses pet food ingredients against publicly available nutritional standards (AAFCO) and your pet's profile. The analysis:

• May not reflect the most current nutritional science
• Cannot account for your pet's complete health history
• May have errors in ingredient identification from photos
• Is personalised to your pet profile input — accuracy depends on the information you provide

3. Subscription & Refund Terms

Free Plan: Includes 5 food scans at no charge. No credit card required.

Premium Plan:

• Weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, billed via Stripe
• Unlimited food scans during the subscription period
• You may cancel at any time through the Profile > Manage Subscription portal
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• Prices are shown in the currency applicable to your region (MYR for Malaysia, USD for other regions)

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract our AI models or scoring methodology
• Share account credentials with others
• Submit false pet profile information to manipulate analysis results
• Use automated tools to make excessive API requests

5. Age Requirements and Children's Privacy

This Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement or have obtained the necessary parental consent.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us at privacy@foodscanpets.com.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and software comprising FoodScan Pets is owned by FoodScan Pets and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the pet profile data you provide.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FoodScan Pets shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Malaysia.
